OFFICIAL BARC TEST SEES RUSSELL RACING MAKE GOOD PROGRESS

Russell Racing enjoyed a pleasing track return at Silverstone National Circuit yesterday, Thursday, 20th March, with 2008 Formula Renault BARC competitors Aaron Steele and Don De Graaff each making good progress.

Joining more than 20 other championship rivals for the only true official test session of the pre-season, the Middlesex based squad gave a good account of itself and is now busy preparing for this weekend’s first two races of the 2008 campaign which take place at Brands Hatch Indy Circuit in Kent on Easter Monday, 24th March.

“It’s been a good day and we’re pleased with the progress we’ve made”, said Russell Racing’s Matt Russell at the conclusion of the Silverstone test run, “It was good to see Aaron heading the times in the final session, he’s a quality driver, and we’re now looking forward to the Brands Hatch races this weekend to see what can be achieved.

“Don improved massively, he really impressed us, and his confidence is growing all of the time. We had a run at Bruntingthorpe in Leicestershire before the Silverstone test and that was good for Don to have more time in the car.

“Now it’s on to Brands Hatch for the season opener this weekend. It’s going to be a big event for the whole Russell Racing team. Not only is it our local track but it’s the home circuit for Aaron and Don as well. We’re all looking forward to an enjoyable weekend.”

Qualifying for rounds one and two of the 2008 Formula Renault BARC Championship takes place on Easter Sunday, 23rd March, with both races scheduled for Easter Monday, 24th March. The full championship will be contested over a total of 12 rounds.
